Khan Arif WAHID - Alumni
Supervisor
Effective from July
2007, I have joined the University of Saskatchewan as an Assistant Professor. My
website has changed, and the new address is
here. My
personal webpage can de accessed
here.
It was my great
pleasure to work with my supervisors, Dr. Jullien and Dr. Dimitrov, from whom I
have learnt the most. The knowledge, that they have transferred, helps me in
every step of my current profession. I am also grateful to all the members of
ATIPS Lab for their cooperation throughout. I miss them all along.
Date: October 1,
2007
I have been
working in the ATiPS Laboratory since January 2002. My supervisors are
Dr. Graham Jullien
and
Dr.
Vassil Dimitrov. My Ph.D.
research focuses on the FPGA implementation of the Discrete Cosine Transform
using 2-Dimensional Algebraic Integers. I am also investigating the possible use of 2-D algebraic
integer to 256-point FFT, Radon and Ridgelet Transform.
My M.Sc. thesis
was focused on the
implementation of the Daubechies Discrete Wavelet Transforms (DWTs) based on
Algebraic Integer encoding of the wavelet
coefficients.
The thesis also develops an
architecture, suitable for future VLSI implementation,
for four and six-coefficient Daubechies wavelet filters
(DAUB4 and DAUB6).
Research Interests:
Implementation of Arithmetic Techniques in DSP
2-D Image/Video Processing (Based
on JPEG/JPEG 2000/MPEG4 Standard)
