QCADesigner
I am currently working on a design and simulation tool (QCADesigner) for quantum dot cellular automata (QCA). For more information about QCADesigner visit the project site [here]. You can download the tool for FREE and try out its features.
My goal is to create an easy to use tool for engineers and physicists interested in quickly designing and testing QCA designs. If you download the tool, I ask that you please e-mail me and let me know what you like or do not like about it, or any features that you think would be useful.
Tutorials I have started working on a QCA tutorial for people wanting some basic information on QCA. You can find this tutorial [HERE]. Journal Papers

Fruit Fly SEM Photos
I took the following fruit fly photos while training on the scanning electron microscope (SEM).
Other Projects
WALKING INSECT ROBOT
I recently made a walking insect robot out of scrap VCR parts, HC12 microcontroller, and 3 standard servos. It is able to walk forward, backward, and make turns. I had planed to give it some advanced intelligence with a simple vision system, but I'm really short on time these days. Below are two pictures of the robot, click on them to see larger versions.
MINIATURE PARTS DELIVERY SYSTEM WITH ROBOT USING GENETIC ALGORITM EVOLUTIONARY CONTROLLER (REALLY COOL!)
This is my all time favorite. Joseph Schrey and myself build a miniature parts delivery system that modeled the delivery robot inside a real manufacturing plant. The robot had to determine the best strategy for delivering the parts to each of the stations in order to maximize the production line output. We decided to try applying a genetic algorithm which evolved a delivery strategy in real-time. The project was a real success. To find out much more and see other photos then those shown below visit Joe's site.

RC AIRPLANES
I am also active in building RC aircraft. I have several airplanes which I will post pictures of later. My most recent project was to rebuild a combat plane which was in really bad shape. Check out the photos here.
RC PLANE MICRONTROLLER AIR SPEED RECORDER
This is another interesting project I did with Joe Schrey for an undergraduate DSP course we were taking. We made an air speed recorder using a small electric motor and a microcontroller. The small motor was mounted on the wing of the plane with fan blades. This acted as a generator during flight and the microcontroller recorded the voltage and calculated the air speed based on a predefined voltage/speed curve.
